Student MC Expression of Interest
We are looking for confident, enthusiastic and creative young people to help host the Game Changer Awards 2026 State Final on 2 November 2026.
This is an opportunity for GCA alumni to return to the Awards in a new role, represent their school, engage with students and industry leaders, and help us bring the GCA State Final to life.
To be eligible, students must:
- Be a GCA alumnus, having participated in the Game Changer Awards in a previous year.
- Not be competing in GCA in 2026.
- Be nominated by their school (maximum of two students per school).
- Be available to attend the GCA State Final on 2 November 2026.
- Be available to participate in preparation and rehearsal before the event.
Previous MC or public-speaking experience is not required. We are looking for students with enthusiasm, personality and the potential to engage an audience.
Teachers can submit an Expression of Interest through the GCA School Portal on behalf of their nominated student.
As part of the EOI, each student must submit a short video of no more than two minutes. The video does not need to be professionally produced or edited—we are interested in the student, not the production quality!
What to include in your 2-minute video:
- Introduce yourself, your school, and when you participated in GCA.
- Briefly tell us about your GCA experience and what you took away from it.
- Tell us why you would like to be a Student MC at the 2026 State Final.
- Show us what you bring to the role and what makes your communication style unique.
- Mock MC Segment (20–30 seconds): Welcome everyone to the Game Changer Awards, introduce a student team or speaker, or transition to the next part of the program.
- Communication: Speaks clearly and confidently and communicates ideas in a way that is easy to follow.
- Audience Engagement: Demonstrates energy, presence and an ability to capture and maintain an audience's attention.
- Personality & Authenticity: Shows individual personality, creativity and a natural communication style.
- Connection to GCA: Demonstrates an understanding of the GCA experience and an ability to connect with students participating in the Awards.
- MC Potential: Demonstrates through the mock MC segment an ability to welcome, introduce, transition and communicate effectively in a live-event environment.
Teachers: Please complete the required details below to submit your student's nomination.
